Large and mainly flat, Niue is a cyclist’s Pacific paradise. It has a 68km sealed ring road and over 150 km of tracks through scenic rain forests, scrub land and bush gardens. It’s easy to avoid main roads but there is minimal traffic anyway, so it’s very biker friendly.
For mountain biking enthusiasts there are numerous suitable bush trails, and a selection of these are used during the annual Rally of the Rock event held over the Queen’s Birthday weekend in June.
Bikes can be hired on the island, or if you’re a real enthusiast you can bring your own.
